From September 1st to 4th, the hustle and bustle of Cancún’s hotel zone became the focal point of the fourth edition of Vive MICE, an event that, for those who attended, was not just a professional gathering but a sensory experience in one of the most spectacular destinations in the world. Organized by the MPI Caribe Mexicano Chapter, Vive MICE 2024 successfully brought together 68 national and international Hosted Buyers, including corporate clients and strategic partners in the generation of groups, conventions, incentive travel, and destination weddings from both Mexico and abroad. Six hotel brands and 41 local suppliers participated as main hosts.
The lights of the resorts shone brightly in the Caribbean night, but what truly illuminated the scene was the opportunity: the possibility to connect, learn, and forge new alliances.

The AVA Resort Cancún, Paradisus Cancún, Krystal Grand Cancún All Inclusive, Hard Rock Hotel Cancún An All Inclusive Experience, and Hilton Cancún an All-Inclusive Resort hosted the attendees, who arrived ready to explore and make the most of the more than 1,024 business appointments scheduled at the event. Negotiations, held in a one-on-one format across 32 strategically arranged tables, were infused with the excitement of new opportunities, solidifying Cancún not just as a destination but as the perfect place for world-class events.
But it wasn’t all business. Vive MICE gave us experiences that will remain etched in everyone’s memory. From the welcome cocktail on the beach of Isla Mujeres to the visit to Río Secreto, where geological formations told the story of our planet and made us feel the magic of the Caribbean. Every corner of this event was designed not only to impress but to transform. This was also demonstrated by the spectacular dinner-show at the Emporio Hotel, where attendees enjoyed a unique evening filled with glamour, innovation, and camaraderie.

One of the most talked-about conferences was Engel Fonseca´s, which left us all in deep reflection with his «MICE Algorithm,» a pioneering talk that broke down how technology is revolutionizing the meetings industry. Fonseca, with his experience in digital transformation, showed us a new way of looking at the future, reminding us that innovation is key to keeping pace in a constantly evolving industry. Undoubtedly, a moment that sparked further discussions in every corner of the host hotels.
Of course, this event would not have been possible without the contribution of key figures. The presence of Ricardo Enríquez, a radio and television host who guided us warmly throughout the days, added a special touch, making every activity feel like an engaging narrative. Engel Fonseca and Ricardo Enríquez are part of the talent that Smart Speakers offers to the events industry. We cannot forget the emotional farewell of Bernardo Santillana Rousselon, President of MPI Caribe Mexicano Chapter, who passed the torch to Humberto García, who will lead the next edition of the event in 2025. The atmosphere was one of celebration, but also anticipation for what’s to come.

At Panorama Turístico, we extend our congratulations and gratitude for the courtesy shown by the entire Vive MICE 2024 committee, comprised of Bernardo Santillana, Guadalupe Ávila, Valeria Serrano, Flor López Jaime, Ana Bolio, Manuel Carrera, Humberto García, Ana Calderón, Cachis Betanzos, and Liliana Cabrera. With its spectacular beaches, unparalleled infrastructure, and warm hospitality, Cancún continues to establish itself as a giant in the MICE tourism sector. The words of Carolina Santillán, MICE Manager of the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council, echoed strongly: «THE NEW ERA«, a campaign that promises to position the Mexican Caribbean as the nerve center for meetings tourism, not only in Latin America but worldwide. With its unmatched connectivity, hotel offerings with over 130,000 rooms, and proximity to more than 134 global cities, Quintana Roo stands as the ideal destination for events, conventions, and dream weddings.

Vive MICE 2024 was more than just an event; it was a tangible demonstration of how a region can adapt, reinvent itself, and continue to lead in the competitive world of meetings tourism. While the waves of the Caribbean lap the shores of Cancún, the industry already looks to the future, with its eyes set on what Vive MICE Riviera Maya 2025 will bring.
